LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATIONS REQUIRE COMMUNITY APPROVAL/SUPPORT
The city of San Francisco's esteemed board of supervisors, and the honorable city's mayor must first approve a number of liquor license types through a public hearing process before the state's alcholic beverage control ( ABC ) agency can issue a license. In some cases, depending on area zoning regulations, a conditional use permit ( CUA ) is required through the planning commission.
San Francisco communities and liquor licenses
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and California Alcololic Beverage Control ( ABC ) require that all liquor license applicants perform adequate community outreach, outreach to SFPD licensing division, and meet with the respective city district supervisor before a public convenience and necessity (PCN) hearing and/or conditional use hearing can be calendared.
License application outreach and PCN hearing consultation/preparation services.
The Community Leadership Alliance works with local beverage law firms, public relations firms and liquor license brokerage firms in facilitating the city and state's required outreach-PCN consulting. However all liquor licenses referred to the CLA are thoroughly-thoughtfully screened. If we believe with complete certainty that the applicant will use the liquor license in a responsible manner, maintain the community's established quality of life-safety standards; then, and only then, will we agree to assist.
